Support New York Advocacy Efforts
CASP advocates for policies that support provider sustainability, access to care, and high-quality autism services throughout New York.
Contributions to this fund support CASP's professional lobbying and advocacy efforts in New York. CASP's VP of Government Affairs, Mariel Fernandez, will work with the New York State Advocacy Group (SAG) hosted in the CASP Community.
State Advocacy Groups are member-led and member-driven. The SAG leader(s) facilitate the conversation with SAG members, and the members determine which policy issues should be prioritized.
The SAG leader(s) share their group’s priorities with CASP’s Government Affairs team, and if consistent with CASP’s mission, these priorities are relayed to the dedicated lobbyist.

- Participation in the SAG is open to all CASP members regardless of contribution level.
- Contributions do not provide additional decision-making authority.

How can I participate in the CASP New York State Advocacy Group (SAG)?
All employees of CASP member organizations can participate in any State Advocacy Group. These groups are hosted in the CASP Community. SAG meeting dates are posted on the CASP Event Calendar.

Will CASP and the lobbyist collaborate with other state advocacy organizations in New York?
State Advocacy Groups are member-led and member-driven. The SAG leader(s) facilitate the conversation with SAG members, and the members determine which policy issues should be prioritized. The SAG leader(s) share their group’s priorities with CASP’s Government Affairs team, and if consistent with CASP’s mission, these priorities are relayed to the dedicated lobbyist.

If a CASP member organization cannot contribute to funding a lobbyist, can that organization still participate in the SAG discussions?
Yes; Participation in the SAG is open to all CASP members.

If Organization A contributes more than Organization B, does Organization A’s opinion carry more weight in decision-making within the SAG?
No. The amount of individual contributions will not be published. Contributions are made with the understanding that organizations are contributing to the collective benefit of all CASP member organizations operating in New York as represented by the CASP New York SAG. Decisions within the SAG will be made democratically.

What is the deadline for contributions?
Please remit payment by June 30, 2026.

Will I be asked to remit my contribution immediately?
Proceeding through checkout will generate an invoice for you automatically. Due to the time sensitivity, we do ask that you remit your payment as soon as possible.

What if we don’t meet the $48,250 goal and cannot engage a lobbyist? (Anticipated term: 07/01/2026 through 06/30/2027)
If we do not receive enough contributions to fund a lobbyist in New York, CASP will negotiate a partial year contract with the lobbyist and continue fundraising towards the overall goal.

Will I be able to contact the lobbyist for updates?
CASP's Government Affairs team will be the single point of contact for the contracted lobbyist. They will remain in regular communication with the SAG leaders to communicate progress and will foster opportunities for SAG members to engage directly with the lobbyist.

Can organizations that are not CASP members contribute to the lobbyist fund?
Yes, CASP welcomes contributions from all New York Providers.

How can non-members participate in the conversation?
Non-members are welcome to share their legislative priorities directly with CASP's Vice President of Government Affairs, Mariel Fernandez.
